Porcelain Veneers

Many patients want to correct smile irregularities, but the thought of spending years on advanced cosmetic, restorative, or orthodontic treatment deters them. Porcelain veneers are a cosmetic service that offers patients the opportunity to hit the reset button on years of dental wear, chips, cracks, and stains. These thin sheaths of dental-grade porcelain are placed over the front of teeth, effectively concealing any number of smile flaws. The procedure is simple: a small amount of surface enamel is removed from the fronts of teeth in order to allow the veneer to blend seamlessly into the smile line. We then take impressions of prepared teeth that are sent to a dental lab, where a custom veneer is crafted. In the meantime, a temporary veneer is placed in order to protect teeth and allow patients to get used to the feel of their restoration. Once the final veneer is returned to our office, we exchange the temporary for the custom veneer.

Teeth Whitening

Easily the most popular cosmetic dentistry service, our team offers both in-office and take-home teeth whitening. Professional whitening products and techniques offer more reliable results, protect overall oral health, and can brighten smiles up to ten shades. Both in-office and at-home whitening produce predictable results. For those patients who wish to brighten smiles quickly, in-office whitening is likely the best option. Over the course of about an hour, smiles are whitened up to ten shades. For patients who prefer gradual whitening, experience dental sensitivity, or who want to touch up the results of in-office whitening, take-home kits offer results similar to in-office whitening over the course of several weeks. In the case of touch up treatment, a “whitening weekend” is typically effective.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

In the past, dentists have relied on metal or silver-colored amalgam fillings to repair teeth damage caused by decay or injury. In addition to the less aesthetic qualities, amalgam fillings expand and contract when exposed to changes in temperature, which may lead to additional dental damage, and the bonding material between the natural tooth enamel and the amalgam filling can break down over time, leading to lost or broken fillings or further decay. Unlike traditional amalgam fillings, composite resin fillings closely resemble healthy dental structure and are not sensitive to temperature changes. The material is directly bonded with tooth enamel, limiting the risk for future breakage or decay. Composite resin, tooth-colored, fillings are applied to the damaged tooth and shaped into position. Once the lost tooth structure is restored with the filling material, a curing light is applied to harden the filling material into position.
