How it Works

Rather than using brackets and wires to shift teeth into their ideal alignment, Invisalign utilizes a series of clear, plastic alignment trays to move smiles into position. Each set of aligners represents a position fractionally closer to a patient’s ideal smile. The trays place consistent pressure on teeth throughout the treatment process, and in about two weeks on average, patients’ teeth reach the point in alignment as marked by the trays. Patients then switch to the next set of trays of the series. The entire treatment process is typically completed within 8 to 18 months.
