What is a Dental Bridge?

TA dental bridge is a dental restoration that is used to replace one or more missing teeth. It consists of an artificial tooth (known as pontic), that is held in place by two dental crowns. The crowns are placed on the adjacent teeth, which are known as abutment teeth. The bridge is then cemented into place, providing a strong, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing restoration.

what are the Benefits of dental bridges?

Dental bridges provide a number of benefits, including:

  • Improving your ability to chew and speak
  • Maintaining the shape of your face
  • Improving your smile
  • Preventing your remaining teeth from shifting
  • Helping to prevent gum disease and decay
Types of Dental Bridges

At our practice, we offer several types of dental bridges, including:

Traditional bridges:

This type of bridge is the most common and consists of a pontic and two crowns. It is the most economical option.

Cantilever bridges:

This type of bridge is used when there are adjacent teeth on only one side of the missing tooth or teeth.

Maryland bridges:

This bridge is made of porcelain or plastic and is held in place by metal wings that are bonded to the adjacent teeth.

Implant-supported bridges:

This type of bridge is held in place by dental implants that are surgically placed in the jawbone. This is the most secure and durable option.
