I was knowledge right of way as I entered the office, making me feel welcomed. Jannette was down to earth , I feel I like knew her already. She did a fantastic job with the cleaning. This location and the team at Dental Arts Pelham are amazing. Marlene and Carol are so professional and truly works with you when trying find the proper care and finance if need be. They don’t just see you as a number, but as family which means they go above and beyond.Dr. Daphne Benedit is one in a million. Her compassion for others and gentle care when handling patients is impeccable. It’s like coming home to a family reunion seeing everyone you love with grandma there greeting you with a smile that lights up the room, that’s Dr. Benedit. My mother came in for an extensive procedure and even though she didn’t have to, she called weeks in to make sure my mother was doing well with her care. Usually with dentist you feel pain and discomfort, I can truly say that Dr. Benedit truly loves her job and it shows in every smile that walks out of that office. Dr. Markovitch has truly developed a wonderful team and an office that feels like a second home. I highly recommend this location for anyone looking to make a difference in their smile and hygiene.

At our office, we understand how important it is to maintain healthy, comfortable teeth and gums. That’s why we offer root canal treatments to our patients who are suffering from an infection or injury to their pulp, the nerve of the tooth.

What is a root canal?

Root canal treatment is a procedure that involves removing the infected nerve of the tooth and cleaning out the canals of the tooth. This treatment can help save a tooth that has been damaged due to an infection or injury.

What are the signs I need a root canal?

The following are signs that you may need a root canal:

• Severe toothache or pain when biting or chewing
• Swelling and tenderness of the gums
• Sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures
• Discoloration of the tooth
• Pus or abscess near the affected tooth

How is a root canal performed?

During a root canal, the dentist will use local anesthesia to numb the area. Then, they will make an opening in the top of the affected tooth to access the nerve. The dentist will then remove the nerve and any other infected tissue. Then, they will clean, shape, and fill the canals of the tooth. Finally, the dentist will seal the opening and place a crown or other restoration over the tooth.

What are the benefits of root canal treatment?

Root canal treatment can help save a damaged tooth that would otherwise need to be extracted. This treatment can also help alleviate any pain or discomfort caused by an infection or injury.

At our office, we understand how important it is to maintain healthy, comfortable teeth and gums. If you think you may need a root canal, please don’t hesitate to contact us to schedule an appointment. We are here to help you get the care you need.
